Pardon our dust...We're under construction.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
You feel as though you’ve been stuck in the same moment for months or even years. You experience the same thoughts or images over and over again, like they’re invading your mind. You want to move on, but it’s like your past experiences are refusing to let you.
No matter how hard you fight it, it’s never enough. It hurts, it’s stressful, and it’s taking you away from the life you want to live.
Would you believe that you’re actually right about this? This isn’t a matter of will-power or strength. Your brain won’t let you move on. This is neurobiology. Our brains store memory (our pasts and experiences) in ways that make sense in the moment those experiences happen. However, as time passes and our life situations change, those methods of storage may no longer make sense at all, and in fact, might be causing you to needlessly suffer with fear, anxiety, panic attacks or depression.
Imagine how different your life might be if you had space in your mind for pursuing your passions, for being in the moment with your loved ones, or for simply being able to relax?
EMDR is unlike other types of traditional therapy that focus on changing how your thoughts and emotions react to the past. Instead, EMDR targets the way memory is stored in the brain. It changes how painful memories are stored, offering it’s utilizers freedom from the intensity of symptoms.
EMDR is evidence-based, and known for it’s effectiveness. Often, EMDR can accomplish in just a few months what traditional talk-therapy may take years to complete.
